Sylvie Augereau
Le Thoureil - Loire Valley
Located in the small town of Le Thoureil on the south side of the Loire, Sylvie Augereau is working on a small domaine of only 1.5 hectares, producing only 3000 bottles each vintages.
A small estate however, with a great diversity of grape varieties, some classics of the region such as Chenin and Cabernet Franc, and some indigenous forgotten types like Pineau d’Aunis and Grolleau.
All natural and biodynamic, some of her production is macerated and vinified in Qvevri, some traditional amphoras for Georgia, following ancestral principles.
Sylvie and her husband Nicolas are both very committed and passionate about their work and the impact of it, with a strong philosophy that we can find and taste in those bottles.
On top of her winemaking skills, Sylvie is a pioneer in agronomy, passionate about terroir, a renowned journalist, and the creator of the natural wine fest La Dive Bouteille.
Sylvie Augereau in the bottle
Pulpes (Chenins Centenaires)
An explosive Chenin Blanc, one of the highlights of our portfolio! Coming from 100 years old vines, aged for two years in old foudres before being bottled without any sulfite added, this is a natural Chenin like any other ones.
Peaux (Chenins Macérés Qvevri)
A 100% Chenin Blanc with a very particular style : naturally fermented on the skins of the grapes, matured for 2 years in Georgian traditional amphoras called Qvevri. Only 450 bottles produced each vintage.
Anjou Manquants (Très Vieux Cabernets)
Coming from a single parcel of 100 years old vines, macerated for 3 weeks and then aged for 2 years in old foudres - this is a Cabernet Franc with depth and complexity.
