Maison Maenad

Orbagna - Jura

Originally from Ottawa, Katie Worobeck moved to France in 2017 for an internship at one of the masters in Jura, Jean-François Ganevat.

In 2019, she made her debut as an independent winemaker by setting up her own vineyard in the Southern side of Jura, in the town of Orbagna. Starting with only 0.92 hectares of vines, she has recently purchased a new parcel in 2022, for a total of 3 hectares now.

Carrying a deep understanding about Jura terroir and varieties, Katie is committed to regenerative agriculture and all the vines are farmed organically with biodynamic principles.

In the cellar, she carries this Ganevat-like precision and attention to the details, with this modern touch. One of the brightest young and talented winemakers of her generation to watch.
