Domaine de la Grapp'A

Arbois - Jura

Aurélie Parla and Julien Maublanc created Domaine la Grapp’a working their first vintage in 2021. Both from Jura, the 5 hectares of vines of the domaine have been in Julien’s family for generations, worked organically for the local cooperative. Located in the village of Abergement-le-Grand, just 5km outside of Arbois, the vineyard always had a tremendous potential, that the couple are finally expressing under its own label.

Composed of many very qualitative and well exposed plots of old massales of Chardonnay, both yellow and green Savagnin, Pinot Noir as well as the local reds – Trousseau and Poulsard. While working on the biodynamic conversation of the current vines, Aurélie and Julien are also planting 2.5 hectare of young vines which will be ready in 2025.

Following the work in the vineyards, Aurélie and Julien are very precise and careful in their winemaking, with the next vintage delivering many different cuvées experimenting different macerations time. The white wines are then aged mostly in old barrels in a historical limestone cellar in the basement dating of the XVIth century.

Encompassing the diversity of terroirs and varieties that Jura has to offer, Domaine de la Grapp’a is a duo to watch.
